Does an AI read my story?
No. No AI reads, analyzes, rewrites, or trains on your writing, and nothing is sent to any AI service. The mic runs only while you record, and no audio is analyzed. AI coding tools only ever see RecLet's source code. Never your work. If this ever changes, based on user sentiment, any future AI feature would be opt-in, on-device, and disclosed first.
Who can see my story?
Only you. There are no RecLet accounts and no RecLet server that receives your content. If you turn on a backup, the copy lives in your storage or your chosen cloud's server.
What actually leaves my device?
Only anonymous crash reports. No content, file names, or account info. There is currently no in-app usage tracking. Any future tracking would be opt-in, on-device, and disclosed first.
Owning & moving your work
Am I locked in?
No. RecLet lets you export any Letter or Planner as ODT, plain text, Markdown, or PDF and open it in other software. Records export as audio (more formats with Pro+Studio); Quotes export as an image.
What if I uninstall?
Your work is on your device, so removing the app removes anything you haven't copied out. Keep a backup (Galleries → Storage & Sync) or export what matters.
Backup & sync
How do I back up or sync across devices?
RecLet has no cloud of its own. In Galleries → Storage & Sync you keep a copy in the Files app or any folder you pick, including one your Dropbox / OneDrive / Google Drive app already syncs. It stays a plain file copy in storage you control.
Will another device overwrite my story?
It's a file copy, no RecLet sync, so files are overwritten if you choose to save over a file with same filename.
Saving & versions
Does it save automatically?
Yes. RecLet auto-saves as you type (save indicator, plus ⌘/Ctrl+S).
Can I use RecLet offline?
Yes, RecLet stores your content locally, so you can work fully offline, with no signal.
Can I make Versions/drafts in RecLet?
Yes, in RecLet you can save a version (a restore point) or mark a draft (a labelled milestone), kept on your device.

What's free vs paid?
RecLet is fully usable for free, but offers more for those who are ready to go pro. Pro+Studio ($12.99/mo · $129.99/yr) includes everything in Pro, plus the Audio Studio.
RecLet Pro ($4.99/mo · $49.99/yr) adds writing depth for preparing enhanced Letters.
RecLet Pro+Studio ($12.99/mo · $129.99/yr) adds audio producing professional Records.
Both RecLet Pro and RecLet Pro+Studio include an introductory 7-day free trial (one per subscription group).
If I cancel RecLet, do I lose my stories?
No. When you cancel RecLet, you keep every free feature and access to what you already made.
Export fidelity
Will RecLet mess up my ODT on import?
RecLet will give you a "trust report" of your ODT and what was found before anything opens or the ODF kernel validates the file. RecLet aims to be excellent at ODT and plain text.
Does the Planner board layout survive export?
No, the RecLet Planner exports its boxes in reading order, not the board arrangement; use "Draft Letter from board" for a flowing document.
AI features requests
Can you add grammar / AI suggestions?
RecLet intentionally includes no AI tools or features in the application. AI coding tools only ever see RecLet's source code. Never your work. Your creative never leaves your device, unless you share it. A core promise. Not an oversight. If RecLet ever adds an AI feature, it'll be opt-in, on-device, and disclosed first.

Where can I get RecLet?
Soon, RecLet can be downloaded on iPhone and iPad via the Apple App Store and Android, rolling out via Google Play.
Do I need an account for RecLet?
No, RecLet does not require an account, login, or email.
Reminders & targets
Will RecLet target reminders to shame or guilt me?
No, RecLet Routines and Pursuits are optional and off by default; reminder text is generic (never your content), and there's no streak-shame.
